The OTC Tire Pressure Monitor Kit is designed to be a complete, universal kit covering vehicles having a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). The software contains a vehicle entry system for easy and accurate access to the correct interface for a vehicle. The monitor has a graphical interface that allows use of the tool with little or no knowledge of TPMS. The manual contains TPMS system descriptions, reset requirements, critical reset procedures, torque specifications, and more. Resetting a tire pressure monitor system is likely required if any of the following procedures are performed on a vehicle: Tire indicator on dash is illuminated Tire pressure correction(s). Tire / wheel rotation. Tire / wheel replacement. Sensor replacement. Receiving antenna replacement. Transmitter replacement. Control unit replacement. Loss of sensor or vehicle battery power. The new AUTOSCAN feature allows for quick checking of tire sensor operation. Selecting this feature from the main menu allows for a single button push to activate any (RF) radio frequency activated sensor, quickly and accurately. The DIAGNOSTICS feature is designed to be used as a sensor pretest, as well as for diagnosing sensors. Simply entering the vehicle Make-Model-Year selects the correct communication path to the vehicle sensor. This allows for the testing of each sensor by activating and receiving the sensor data for analysis. Pretesting the sensors before any work is done to the vehicle helps to determine if a sensor needs to be replaced, upfront, with the customer. This feature also displays information such as sensor ID#, tire pressure, and sensor mode, helpful in diagnosing problems with the TPMS.
